Many ice cream makers add a large number of substances to give the ice cream different properties. Some are added to substitute egg, others to save on the cream, and others to pump more air into the ice cream.
But we have taken an uncompromising approach to our ice cream – and made our product totally free of artificial additives. We want Svaneke Is to be as close to perfection as possible. This means that we deliberately and with every care choose some ingredients and reject others in order to get as close as we can to our mission of 100% natural flavour.
We claim to have reinvented good old-fashioned ice cream. The cream comes from local Jersey cows, whose milk has a higher fat and protein content than ordinary milk. Besides sugar, we use local Ibsker honey as a sweetener. This gives a rounded flavour, and makes the ice cream softer and creamier. And because honey is a better sweetener, we can reduce the sugar in our ice cream.
Following persistent experimentation as well as consultations with experts all over the world, we have succeeded in producing dairy ice cream without any addition of powdered milk, artificial stabilisers or thickening agents. We make ice cream like in the good old days – using the ultimate in state-of-the-art production equipment.
